Daniels Improves, Sees Upgrade In Recruitment

Bishop Daniels

Coming off an impressive summer, Bishop Daniels has a pair of scholarship offers and a number of interested parties.

In just a years span Bishop Daniels changed his game.

This time last year the 6-foot-2 guard was known for his athleticism and jumping ability. Now he's improved his ball handling, passing ability, feel and jump shot.

"I've improved a lot since last year," Daniels told Scout.com. "My game has developed a lot more and I can do a lot more than just dunk all the time." … "I was in the gym with my dad and my coach working on my ball handling and my jump shot."

Daniels, a standout at Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God, sees himself as a combo guard that could turn into a lead guard down the road.

"Of course everybody knows about my athleticism," he said when describing his game. "I'm one of the more athletic kids in our class. Now I'm a true combo guard that can play some one and I have the ability to shoot the mid-range jumper."

With his improved game has come an improved recruitment. He currently holds offers from Charlotte and DePaul and has a host of other schools recruiting him.

"It's getting a whole lot better than what it was," he said of the recruiting process. "Right now it's between Clemson, Miami, DePaul, Purdue, Charlotte and South Carolina."

At this point he hasn't set up any visits, but he's planning to go to Purdue in the near future.

"Right now I'm just sitting down and talking with my parents about the situations and the coaching situations," Daniels said. "I'm just sitting back and seeing what happens with offers and seeing which school needs me."

Daniels, a three-star prospect, said his recruitment was still "open" and didn't have a timeframe on his college decision.
