Davis Picks North Florida

Three-time Carolina Challenge alum Jacoby Davis is headed to North Florida.

Matt Driscoll's North Florida program waltzed into North Carolina and nabbed a 17-point per game scorer out of West Charlotte. Jacoby Davis, a strong combo guard, committed to the program after looking at Charleston, UNC-W and Northeastern.

Davis visited the school in mid-June. Jeremy Shyatt, one of North's assistants, put in work with Davis when the coach was at VCU and it paid off.

"Me and my dad and my mom, I got them together and we talked about it and i wanted to do it," Davis said. "They plan on using me as a scoring point guard." Davis played two seasons at Charlotte Vance before transferring last year to West Charlotte. Always a noted scorer, Davis began making the transition to the point last season.
