Josh Oglesby has his list of schools down to four.
After a terrific July where Oglesby, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, became one of the hottest names on the circuit playing for the Iowa Barnstormers, he opted to cut his list of schools to Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Arizona State.
“I'm going to take my official visits and I’m just going to take it day by day,” Oglesby told Scout.com. “I'll check out the schools and then I'll decide.”
Oglesby, a standout at Cedar Rapids (Iowa) George Washington, has set one unofficial date and four official visit dates
He’ll start the visit process with an unofficial trip to Minnesota on August 23rd. He’ll then visit them the weekend of September 18th for his official trip to the college in Minneapolis.
“I was up at Minnesota for a visit and [I liked] the coaching staff and how they recruited me and their campus and their tradition and the tradition of Tubby Smith as well as the academics,” Oglesby said.
During the weekend of August 28th Oglesby will head to Arizona State for his first official visit. The Sun Devils were among the first schools to begin recruiting him.
“Arizona State has been recruiting me forever and the PAC-10 would be fun to play in,” Oglesby said.
The next weekend Oglesby will make his second trip to Champaign to visit Bruce Weber and the Fightin’ Illini.
“I went to Illinois team camp and I played pretty well there and then they offered me a scholarship,” Oglesby said. “I loved it there.”
Next on his list is Iowa. He’ll be there the weekend of September 11th.
“Iowa just being the in-state kid and growing up being a Hawkeye,” he said when asked about their inclusion on his final list.
Oglesby is currently rated as a three-star prospect on Scout.com.
