"I am kind of top of the world right now," near 7-foot Marshall Plumlee told Scout.com. "I'm so excited."
Virginia and Duke were the two finalists and numerous high-major programs made their pitch to Marshall but it was Duke and its head coach that sealed it up. "For me, it was really building a relationship with Coach K. My brothers, as well as numerous players told me all the great things about him but witnessing it first hand was what I needed."
And how about those brothers? How helpful were they in the process? "They were very helpful. They didn't really pressure me at all. They had their different opinions (on schools) but in the end they support me and they're very supportive of the decision I made. I can't wait to start spending more time with them and getting better."
Each of the Plumlee boys made the transition from Warsaw, Ind., to Arden, N.C. to attend the Christ School and play for David Gaines. Miles originally signed with Stanford before opening his recruitment and inking with Duke. Mason signed with Duke early and now the third son of Perky and Leslie is headed to Durham to play for a hall of coach.
It's not often three brothers attend the same school and with none shorter than 6-10 Duke has effectively mined every ounce of prospect from the Plumlee Pipeline.
