Bowen Bound For Big East
We had a feeling this one could end sooner than later. On Tuesday, Winston Salem (N.C.) Quality Education shooting guard Aaron Bowen reached a decision. The 6-foot-4 Bowen, who acknowledged Georgetown as his leader, committed to the Hoyas. "I really think what sold him and his parents was how close together their family atmosphere is," QEA coach Isaac Pitts said. "From Coach Thompson to his family and how his dad is always around practice and the game that helped. They need a scorer and that's what this kid can do." Bowen visited campus last weekend and is Scout.com's No. 29 rated shooting guard prospect. The Hoyas, in search of instant offense, told Bowen that he'd have a chance to see the court as a freshman. "He's got a chance to play right away. He's super athletic. This kid to me, he's as good as any wing I've done seen. He's special, he's athletic and he can shoot it. They told him they're bringing him in to play." During Bowen's official visit, the Hoyas played a game and it was then Bowen noted the style and envisioned himself excelling as a Hoya. "When he saw them play, he thought to himself that he could play there. He had that feeling and he didn't want to go visit the other places."
