Wade Making Most of Senior Summer
Momentum is huge entering July and Memphis Mitchell senior combo guard Mardracus Wade owns a lot of positive energy. After a strong effort at the NBA Players Camp, Wade's hot. A late invitee to camp, Wade made the most of the experience. "The competition was great and I learned a lot of stuff," Wade said. "We were coached by NBA players so we got to see what its like to make it to the NBA. It made us even want to go even more hard. Those guys might even have gone back and told their (NBA) coaches about us." While it might take the NBA guys time to discover Wade, the college coaches are all over him. Missouri, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Alabama and Mississippi State are in the mix. Heading into the summer, everyone needs to watch Missouri because they are out to an early lead. "Mike Anderson and I built a pretty good relationship. They play full court pressing and run a lot of high ball screens. That's how I play. It would be a good fit but I have to weigh my options. They have coaching and a good facility. It would be a good place to play at." As July unfolds and Wade wins over more admirers, he'll be advancing his own agenda on the national stage. The 6-foot-2 Wade has a serious goal he'd like to achieve this summer. "The big goal for the summer is to be more of a leader on and off the floor. I need to be more vocal and encourage my teammates. I want to better myself each and every day to better myself. If I do that it'll eventually pay off."
