Big Ten Calls On Hardaway
Tim Hardaway is off the board. The Miami (Fla.) Palmetto Class of 2010 shooting guard committed following his unofficial visit and trip to elite camp. He had offers from Kansas State and Minnesota. "Michigan had been pretty much in the lead as a far as how he felt," Palmetto coach Chris Brown said. "The visit solidified everything with the players and getting to know the staff. It wasn't a surprise." As a junior at Palmetto, Brown said Hardaway averaged 24 points and shot close to 40 percent behind the arc. Reportedly, he played exceptionally well at UM's elite camp. He's also the son of former Miami Heat guard Tim Hardaway, Sr. "After the team camp, I took an unofficial visit to talk to Coach Beilein and they talked about how good I would fit in their system," Hardaway said. "I talked to my parents and they said it was on me and they were behind me 100 percent." The style Beilein implements should be a great match. "With his skill level, they can use him at a variety of spots," Brown said. "They love his versatility and that's what he was looking for. With Coach Beilein's offense and the style of play it fits him naturally."
