Tevin Baskin, a senior wing out of Connecticut, is going to play his college basketball for Tom Moore at Quinnipiac.

Tom Moore’s spring acquisition of Tevin Baskin, could prove to be the coach’s most of the season. The 6-foot-7 Stamford (Conn.) Trinity Catholic star averaged 22 points and visited Manhattan and New Orleans prior to signing with the Bobcats.

“It was a little crazy,” Baskin said. “I went to visit New Orleans and Quinnipiac within 48 hours. It was a crazy time.”

Crazy, yes, but also very productive. Baskin, who played last summer with the Gauchos on the traveling circuit, was able to find his fit.

“It came down to the coaching staff. Being around Coach Eaton, Moore and Burrell, its like a second family.” Moore recruited Baskin back during his days as an assistant at UConn and the relationship that was cultivated culminated in a commitment from the senior this month.

The Bobcats sold Baskin on being that last man needed to make a run at a league title. “The model they used for me is that they are one piece away. They were looking for a wing to come in and do it all. I’m from Connecticut but I’m a New York style player.”
