The East Carolina Pirates double-dipped on Monday signing a point guard and a big man. Mack McCarthy is set to welcome in Orlando (Fla.) Timber Creek product Darius Morales and Worcester Academy guard Corvonn Gaines.
“He’s a big that runs the floor well, finishes around and above the rim, blocks shots and rebounds extremely well,” Diana Neal, Florida Assault’s told Scout.com. “He set a school record in triple doubles as well.”
The Pirates have also added Gaines (6-foot-4), who is the brother of former Louisville point guard Reece Gaines. The latter is a professional player in Italy.
George Washington signed Lee Academy guard Tim Johnson. “He pulled the trigger this morning,” NEBC coach Don Marsh told Scout.com.
“George Washington’s a great school and there’s an opportunity to get a starting spot. I think they did a good thing for themselves.”
