Derrick Favors To Decide On Wednesday's top-ranked prospect, Derrick Favors, is ready to announce his choice. So interesting stars are aligning for one ACC team.

The nation's top-ranked prospect, Derrick Favors, will announce his collegiate choice.'s No. 1 player is down to Georgia Tech, Georgia and North Carolina State. The suspense ends on Wednesday.

"Derrick came into my office this morning and said he's going to make an announcement tomorrow at ESPN Zone at 6:30," South Atlanta head coach Michael Reddick.

Obviously, we don't know his decision but here are some interesting nuggets to digest. The last college game Favors attended was Jan. 6 when he watched as Tech beat Georgia. His announcement could find itself on the ESPN Network which just so happens to be broadcasting the Tech-Duke game 30 minutes following his scheduled announcement. Coincidence?

Reddick said its par for the course in what has become a hectic schedule. "We play a game tonight then Wednesday an early practice and Thursday we play in Birmingham against Cousins and then Saturday against Oak Hill."

Was the coach at all taken back by the timing of the announcement? "Am I surprised, no? I told him when he feels comfortable with the teams and it was right to go ahead and let it happen. He said he's ready." Recommended Stories
