2010's Dority Claims Four Offers
Lavonte Dority is ready for his junior season at Chicago (Ill.) Foreman to get started. With Foreman returning their entire nucleus from last year, Dority has lofty goals for this years squad. "My expectations are high," Dority, a 6-foot, 185-pound guard, said. "I want to win it all." "I'm just working out trying to get in shape," he continued. "We are doing conditioning. I think we are going to be good this year because we have all of our returning starters back and we have more help on the bench." Playing alongside Dority in the backcourt is Mike McCall, an equipped scorer from the perimeter. The two make up one of the better backcourts in the state. "Mike is real good," Dority said. "He takes a little bit of pressure off me and he's a great teammate." Dority and McCall played together throughout the summer as well with Chicago Elite, which is a team under the Indiana Elite umbrella. Dority began building his reputation on the summer circuit and picked up plenty of college interest. "This summer went good for me," Dority said. "I got a lot of experience traveling all over the country and to Las Vegas. It was real good for me, especially on the exposure side and my recruitment." "I think I performed well," Dority continued. "I got to show my talent. I think I got the exposure I needed and it helped me a lot." Interest from college coaches began rolling in at a good clip in the spring and at this point he already holds scholarship offers from Marquette, Indiana, Baylor and New Mexico, with interest coming in from Kentucky, Kansas and Seton Hall as well. "My options are open right now," Dority said. "I'm just taking my time. It's still really early, I'm just waiting." Although he's not considering making a decision in the near future, Dority has taken unofficial visits to Indiana, Marquette, New Mexico and Kansas. Of the schools involved with the 2010 prospect, two of them have made an early impression on him. "Marquette and Indiana," he responded when asked if anyone was sticking out. "I like them and they've been recruiting me pretty hard."
