Bryce Taylor, one of the better shooters in the class of 2004, tells us that he's open to interest from major conferences across the country...
Bryce Taylor
, 6-4 JR SG North Hollywood (Calif.) Harvard-Westlake, is a prolific scorer who has a chance to play at the high major level. Taylor needs to develop other aspects of his game besides scoring, and his physical conditioning could improve, but he can score from anywhere on the court and that skill will atrract a lot of attention from college coaches. We spoke with Taylor last night and, while he was reluctant to speak about specific schools, he did say he's receiving interest from the Pac-10, SEC, ACC and Big Ten. "Mostly the Pac-10 and ACC," said Taylor." We asked Taylor if there was any school in particular that he admired growing up and he replied, "like a of kids, I guess,
Duke
." When we questioned him about schools that have been out to his high school campus, Taylor said, "
USC
,
Utah
,
UCLA
,
Stanford
...a few others have talked to my coach." Taylor said he hasn't really thought about the issue of leaving home for college. "I'd have to see the school first, see what it's like, before I could decide." We asked what factors he would consider in his recruitment and Taylor said, "the coaches, where I fit in, academics of course, the campus and facilities, and my relationship with the coaches." Taylor said he prefers a fast-paced offense and says playing time will be an issue. "Someplace where I would get to play early, yeah, that would be a factor," said Taylor. Taylor went on to say that he'd like to play at the highest level possible. "I want to play someplace where they have a chance to go to Final Fours and win championships," said Taylor. Taylor has yet to take the SAT and said his GPA is around 3.0
