McDonald Has Top Notch Pursuers
Although Leslie McDonald is focused on his upcoming high school season, the 6-foot-4 wing is still thinking a lot about the recruiting process. He has a bunch of interest and is racking up scholarship offers. At this point he claims scholarship offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Memphis, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and Wake Forest. Duke and Florida are also involved in his recruitment, but according to McDonald neither has stepped up with a scholarship offer. While the Blue Devils and Gators want to see a little more out of McDonald, there are other schools that are clearly making him a priority. "I've been hearing a lot from North Carolina," McDonald said. "They've been coming at me pretty hard. Ohio State, they've been coming after me. Georgetown is coming, too. I heard that Greg Monroe committed there." The Hoyas have certainly made a splash on the recruiting trail lately with Monroe's commitment and they are using that as a selling point with McDonald. "When you see other impact players and other highly touted players you can kind of use that in consideration and that plays a part," McDonald said. Recently McDonald took a visit to Memphis for the midnight madness festivities. The Briarcrest (Tenn.) Christian standout is hoping to visit a few more campuses during the college season. "We are playing games in a few different regions, so we are thinking if there's the opportunity that we might stop by a few places," he said. "Me and my dad were also thinking about seeing some games and going to a few different colleges and watching them play." McDonald and his Briarcrest squad kick off their season on November 12th. The Saints will play a number of games out of state, including a game in the Marshall County (Ky.) Hoopfest.
