James Madison tapped into the plethora of prospects at the Patterson School. Rodrigo Peggau, a native of Brazil, is on his way to JMU.

The James Madison Dukes scored a commitment they can be proud of this week. Rodrigo Peggau, a 6-foot-8 insider out of Brazil is headed to Harrisonburg. Peggau, who is out for another week with a sprained knee ligament, heard from the likes of George Mason and Hawaii.

“The whole James Madison staff did a great job,” Patterson School coach Chris Chaney said. “If he had waited late he’d have been a high-major kid; his skill level is that good and he plays hard.”

Peggau ran on the AAU circuit with Triple Threat before heading down to Patterson for a prep year. He can play to mid-range and has the kind of body that can be effective in the CAA.

“I told them that Rodrigo’s the kind of kid in their league that they can win with. He knows how to play and to get a guy like this he may be a four-year starter.”
