Kuric Picks Up New Offer
Originally Louisville offered Kyle Kuric the chance to walk-on his first season and then become a scholarship player the next year. This past weekend, Rick Pitino changed his mind. "They changed it," Kuric said. "Now they are offering me a scholarship for next year. It went well. I just sat down and talked to [Pitino] about where I fit in and who they trying to bring in and what they are trying to do." Kuric was in Louisville from Thursday through Friday, so he got a chance to take in what the University and the city of Louisville have to offer. During the trip he played pick up ball, went bowling with the team and checked out their new practice gym. "It was ridiculous," Kuric said of the new $14 million facility. "It was real, real nice. I liked it a lot. They have some of the best facilities I've ever seen and a good coaching staff. I really liked it." Kuric is also getting plenty of interest from Southern Illinois, St. Louis, Duke and Michigan. He's already been to Southern Illinois and Michigan, but will re-visit the Wolverines for an official this coming weekend. The Evansville (Ind.) Reitz Memorial standout also has a visit scheduled for St. Louis the weekend of the 29th. He plans to visit Duke, but a visit date hasn't been finalized. At this point he doesn't have any favorites. "They are all about the same," he said. "I'm going to finish these visits and then try to narrow it from there. I'm going to try and decide in early or mid October." Kuric, who broke out in July playing for the Evansville Basketball Club, is a 6-foot-5, 175-pound shooting guard with incredible athleticism. His vertical is reportedly over 40-inches and he's also developed a nice stroke from deep.
