Harris Makes Up His Mind

Another point guard is off the table. Dashan Harris made up his mind on Friday and he's headed to the Big 12.

Dashan Harris couldn’t wait any longer. He was ready to make his decision on Friday, so he called up Texas A&M and let them know he wanted to play for their program.

“When I left campus I had a gut feeling,” Harris said. “I sat down and talked to my family and talked to my head coach, Coach Sutton, and from there I thought about it for a couple days and then called Coach Turgeon up today.”

Last weekend Harris took a visit to Texas A&M and Harris got to meet Coach Turgeon, in person, for the first time. During his meeting with the new Aggie coach, Harris was told that he could make an impact from day one.

“[The visit] blew me away. Coach Turgeon as a person was real genuine. All the coaches and the staff made my family feel at home and they made me feel at home. I really felt comfortable there.”

“it played a big role in my commitment, me being able to play right away,” he said. “Coach Turgeon gave me that opportunity and I’m going to go in and take advantage of it.”

Harris, who is ranked No. 19 at the point guard position, picked the Aggies over scholarship offers from Indiana, Kentucky, Florida State, Cincinnati, Oklahoma and California.
