The invite-only event, organized by FOXSports.com senior college basketball writer Jeff Goodman and New England Recruiting Report/HoopScoop’s Adam Finkelstein, will be limited to the top 75 players throughout the six New England states.
One of the three current NBA players, Matt Bonner of the world champion San Antonio Spurs, is expected to be in attendance.
``That’s what gave us the idea to do this,” Goodman said. “It’s embarrassing that there are only three current NBA players from New England.”
The UConn-bound duo of Alex Oriakhi and Jamaal Coombs will both be participating – and another one of the nation’s elite juniors, 6-foot-10 Erik Murphy, will be in attendance as well.
``It’s the only camp in New England that has all the best players,” said Murphy, who recently fielded an offer from Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators. “All of the best players in New England are there and it’s great competition.”
Massachusetts native Troy Gillenwater told FOXSports.com that he will be making his college decision at the event.
Individual instruction begins at 10 a.m. and the games will get underway at approximately 11:15 a.m. The all-star game is slated for 2 p.m. and will be followed by pickup games from some of the top current and past college players from New England.
