It's always been difficult to keep tabs on Darrington Hobson because he's moved around so much. However, the talented 6-foot-6 senior should have a consistent address starting next fall. The Decatur Christian (Ill.) swingman is headed west for college.

Darrington Hobson is qualified - and committed.

The Las Vegas native, who has moved around quite a bit in the last few years, committed to Pepperdine.

``It's official now," Decatur Christian (Ill.) coach Alan Huss said. "Pepperdine stuck with him when everyone else dropped off."

Huss said that Hobson has raised his GPA and achieved a qualifying test score last week.

That solidified things with Pepperdine.

No one has questioned Hobson's ability. The 6-foot-6 senior is one of the most versatile players in the country.

However, his academics have been what's held him back.

``He's one of the most intelligent players on the court that I've coached," Huss said. "You can play him on the ball or off of it."

Huss said that Hobson is in a cast, recovering from torn ligaments in his ankle.
