Bryce Smith, 6-3 JR SG Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft, is one of the best shooters in the west and he’s hearing from a number of programs.
Smith told us recently that Pepperdine, Loyola Marymount, Santa Clara, Utah, Brown, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Texas Tech and Colorado State have all been in contact with him.
We asked Smith if any program has offered a scholarship at this time.
“Pepperdine, Colorado State and Loyola all said they will probably offer toward the end of the year,” said Smith.
Smith said a few coaches have been out to his games this year.
“Pepperdine, Colorado State and Utah have all been out,” said Smith.
When we asked Smith which programs have been recruiting him the hardest, he replied, “Loyola, Colorado State and Pepperdine have probably been recruiting me the hardest.”
Smith talked a little about what he is looking for in a school.
“I’m looking for a program that fits the way I play,” said Smith. “Someplace where I can play right away. Location isn’t really a big deal. We took a trip to North Carolina this year and I liked it out there. I wouldn’t mind leaving the west.”
Smith doesn’t see himself making a decision anytime soon.
“I’ll probably wait until I find a school where I feel real comfortable,” said Smith.
Smith told us he has a 3.6 GPA.
