Stewart Twins Pick Washington
The Seattle Times reported in their Sunday editions that Rainer Beach twins Lodrick and Rodrick Stewart committed to Washington.
It had been reported that the twins had narrowed their decision to Pac-10 foes Washington and Southern Cal. In the Times report, it said that intended to throw off the media over the weekend after fans inquired about their decisions. However, they said their commitments to Washington were the real deal.
In staying home, the Huskies land a pair of versatile athletes. Rodrick had himself a fine summer as he routinely put up good offensive numbers. Lodrick battled injuries for most of the summer. Both are super players in an up tempo setting and their athleticism and instincts should allow them to be top notch defenders.
From a Washington perspective, the commitments are significant. In recent years, the Huskies had been unable to keep many of the state’s top players within the borders. The Stewart twins are both ranked among the Top 50 prep players in the nation according to TheInsidersHoops.com.
