The National Prep Showcase begins tomorrow (Friday) and we'll be at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass., to cover all the action. All of our Preseason Top 10 teams will be there - as well as two of the elite players in the country - Michael Beasley and Tyreke Evans.

The National Prep Showcase begins tomorrow.

All of Scout.com’s preseason Top 10 teams will be in attendance and 16 players who are ranked in the Top 100 by one national recruiting analyst or another will be in action over the weekend.

The annual event (schedule below), which features the top prep school teams from around the country, will be held at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass. It will get started when the two winningest coaches in the prep ranks, Fork Union’s Fletcher Arritt and St. Thomas More’s Jere Quinn, face one another at 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.

It will include many of the top committed and uncommitted players in the nation – including Michael Beasley (Kansas State) and Scout.com’s No. 2 player in the Class of 2008, Tyreke Evans.

Beasley and his Notre Dame Prep teammates will go up against one of the nation’s top juniors Friday at 7 p.m. when they face Stoneridge Prep’s Troy Gillenwater, a Boston native who will be returning to his home state.

The nightcap will pit No. 2 Patterson School against No. 4 Bridgton Academy. Bridgton, led by St. John’s-bound Justin Burrell and a host of unsigned post-grads, knocked off Patterson last season. Patterson is has Baby Shaq, 7-foot-2, 330-pound James Tyler – a junior who has already committed to play for John Brady at LSU.

In addition to other elite seniors such as Craig Brackins (Iowa State), Mamadou Diarra (unsigned), Matthew Bryan-Amaning (Washington), Keenan Ellis (UAB), Burrell, Dorenzo Hudson (Va. Tech), Dominique Sutton (Kansas State) and Jeff Allen (Va. Tech), there are also highly ranked juniors such as Evans, Devin Ebanks, Gillenwater, Emmanuel Negedu, Tyler and Christian Morris.

Nineteen of Scout.com’s Top 25 Post-Grads will be in attendance.

A pair of future UConn Huskies, sophomores Alex Oriakhi and Jamal Coombs, will be suiting up for Winchendon (Mass.). However, they may not even be the most talented players from the Class of 2009 in the event as Patterson School forward Karron Johnson, ranked as high as No. 6 in the country by one analyst, may boast that distinction.

Tickets for the event are $10 per day and $5 per day for students.
