Tucker Sets First Visit
Cliff Tucker is on the verge of living a dream. The Maryland native, who moved to El Paso, Texas, about 10 years ago, will take a visit to Gary Williams' Maryland Terps program on Nov. 11 – and is hopeful that the trip will lead to a commitment. ``That's where I'm from," said the 6-foot-4, 180-pound two-sport standout. "I grew up loving them and still like them to this day." Tucker has racked up 683 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns and his El Paso Chapin High team is 8-0 so far this season. However, he's always known that his future was in basketball. Tucker averaged 20 points per game last season and is a versatile player who has a good feel for the game and knows how to make his teammates better. If there's a knock on Tucker, it's concerning the consistency of his perimeter shot. Tucker said that he's also received interest from Clemson, UTEP, San Diego and Virginia – but that the Terps are clearly at top right now. ``I want to play for a good coach," Tucker said. "That's the most important thing for me." ``I've been to Maryland before," he added. "I went to their camp three years in a row. I'm going to see how the visit goes, but I still might wait and see what my other options are. I'm not sure."
