Omar Wattad is off the board. The Science Hill small forward is headed North to the Big East.

The Georgetown Hoyas now have a recruiting class of three players from the Class of 2007. Joining standouts Austin Freeman (Scout.com No. 13) and point guard Chris Wright (No. 34) will be Johnson City (Tenn.) Science Hill star Omar Wattad.

Last spring Wattad accelerated his recruitment by performing well with the Tennessee Travelers. His final schools were Georgetown, Vanderbilt, UNC-Wilmington and Massachusetts.

“I had a press conference yesterday and I committed to Georgetown,” Wattad said. “In the end I know its going to be a great four-year career .”

Excited to be a part of a program that is clearly on the rise, Wattad fell in love with the Big East program. He visited recently and also tripped to Wilmington but the Hoyas tugged at his heart.

“When I took my official visit I saw it was where I want to be. It was a tough decision until I found Georgetown. Coach Thompson is a great guy and I fit in that system. I loved it.”
