Antonio Lawrence, 6-4 SR SG Fresno (Calif.) San Joaquin Memorial, was very highly touted when he moved to the West Coast from Florida last year.

While we disagreed with the rankings that had him in the top 100 nationally, we do think he has some ability and we were surprised by the apparent lack of recruiting interest in his senior year. No one we spoke with had an explanation for why a player with his upside wasn't getting more looks at the mid-major level.

Lawrence ended all the speculation about him last week, though, when he signed with San Jose St. He is the first signee for new San Jose St. coach Phil Johnson.
