New Hampton has produced its fair share of talented, big-name players. This year may not have a ton of big names, but they will be more than competitive.

Not too long ago, Jamie Arsenault boasted elite players like Rashad McCants, Tom Coverdale and Lawrence Moten.

Arsenault may not have any players with big-time reps this season, but he’ll return a pair of impact guys – and should have a solid backcourt that can compete with just about anyone in the prep ranks.

Radar Onguetou is a 6-foot-5, 215-pound forward from Cameroon who has been out for a while due to torn meniscus. He’s expected to return to the court in the next couple of weeks and will team with countryman Menghe Nyam to form one of the most aggressive forward tandems just about anywhere.

Onguetou is being looked at by SMU and James Madison while Nyam is receiving interest, according to Arsenault, from the likes of SMU, Loyola (Ill.), UNH, Northeastern, Southern Mississippi, Central Connecticut State and Hartford.

The backcourt will feature recent Kansas commit Brady Morningstar, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Lawrence, Kan., who is a heady player that can play either backcourt spot. He’ll be joined by Kyle Moore, a 6-foot-3 point guard from Gainesville, Fla.

``Brady’s going to be a great leader,” Arsenault said. “That’s one of his greatest attributes. He is a gym rat and loves to play. He’s always moving and he makes the best decision almost all of the time.”

The final starting spot will likely go to either 6-6 ½ Andre Hardy of St. Augustine High in San Diego or 6-foot-8 big man T.J. Topicier, an Ivy League-caliber player from Phoenix.

``Hardy can shoot it a little bit, but he’s real athletic and is a tough kid,” Arsenault said. “T.J. is a face-up power forward who can bang.”

New Hampton’s bench will consist of 6-foot-5 shooting guard Jaxson Leo, a shooter from Virginia; guard Patrick Dame, a shooter of out Vermont; big-time football player Warren Wilson, a combo guard from Lawrence, Mass.; Kris Kouture, a little point guard from Maine; and 6-foot-3 forward J.D. Olsen out of Calif.
