The St. Joseph’s Hawks took their talented 2006 recruiting class and added size to it on Monday afternoon. Rockwell Moody, a center out of Virginia, is headed to the Atlantic 10.

St. Joseph’s, piece by piece, has strung together a nice recruiting class. The first three pieces of the Hawks puzzle were guards, and good ones. Darrin Govens, a standout from Chester is in the mix. So is combo guard Jawan Carter and slick defensive specialist Derrick Rivera out of Philly.

After mining the local area of its valuable guard resources, St. Joe’s looked south toward Arlington, Va., and Bishop O’Connell High School.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, center Rockwell Moody is the fourth commitment in the class.

“It was St. Joe’s and (coach) Phil Martelli who made Rockwell feel like he was a priority,” O’Connell coach Joe Wootten told the paper.

As a junior, Moody averaged 8 points and 7 rebounds on a team laced with Division I prospects.
