The Memphis Tigers have a new power forward. Pierre Niles, a former standout from Memphis Ridgeway, committed to the school, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
The 6-foot-8 Niles told the paper that he’s fulfilling a dream. “I grew up watching Memphis, and have always wanted to play there,” Niles said in an interview. This is a dream.”
Niles, part of Memphis’ strong senior class, will get his diploma elsewhere. The paper also reported that he’s enrolling at Lake Suzy (Fla.) Florida Prep.
A powerfully built forward, Niles has the look of a defensive end and the strength of a college senior already.
