Josue Soto ended his recruitment while on a visit on Wednesday afternoon. The Arlington Country Day (Fla.) point guard opted to remain close to home.

Josue Soto, a 6-foot, 170-pound rising senior point guard at Arlington Country Day (Fla.), committed to Florida State during a visit on Wednesday.

Soto averaged 17.4 points and seven assists per game last season under Rex Morgan at ACD.

``I know Leonard (Hamilton) loved his ability to run a team,” Miami Tropics coach Art Alvarez said. “Florida State needed a point guard and I think he’ll have a chance to come right in and play.”

Alvarez said that Wake Forest and Indiana offered Soto recently – and that Illinois was in the mix.

``Josue is ecstatic,” added Alvarez. “He’s up there on a visit and he wants to be a Seminole. He wants to play in the ACC.”

``When it’s all said and done, he has the chance to be the best player we’ve ever had,” Alvarez continued. “He’s so smart and he runs the pick and roll better than anyone in the country.”
