Andray Blatche, Louis Williams, Martell Webster, Shawne Williams and Keith Brumbaugh will hit the floor of Madison Square Garden tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Each of them will have career decisions pending.
Monta Ellis was another of the 20 chosen players, but pulled out this week. Tiki Mayben will be his replacement and man the point for the White team.
For Blatche’s draft status, having his friend Mayben looking for him in the game can only help his chances of delivering a performance that impresses the GM’s and Scouts on hand. Blatche has already declared for June’s NBA Draft but is yet to sign an agent. The Jordan Classic will be his third post-season all-star game, which thus waives his college eligibility for next season.
Louis Williams won’t be so fortunate to have his high school teammate Mike Mercer to share the ball with. Mercer will suit up for the White with Williams on the Gray team. Whether or not Williams ends up at Georgia next season could be told by the game’s conclusion.
Webster is coming off a performance at the McDonald’s All-American game that started some first-round talk, Shawne Williams recently announced he was putting his name in, and Brumbaugh will get his first chance of showcasing his game on the national all-star stage.
The Jordan Classic will be televised on ESPN 2.
