The OSU women enter the Big Ten tournament tonight with some altered ideas about what they would…
Woods Headed To Big East School
Jay Wright went up into the Pocono Mountains and landed himself a prospect. Kraidon Woods, a 6-foot-8 power forward out of Swiftwater (Penn.) Pocono Mountain East, committed to the Villanova Wildcats. "I thought it was about time to make up my mind," Woods said. "Villanova felt like the right place for me. They started recruiting me before the high school season started. I went there and loved the school. After all the success, they still recruited me like they wanted me there and needed me there. I liked that about them." Woods picked the Wildcats over St. John's. Villanova assistant Brett Gunning was the point man behind the successful recruitment of Woods to the Philly-based school. "We would talk on the phone it was always a good conversation," Woods said. "He was real with me and I thought I could trust him." Last weekend, Woods injured himself at the Playaz Spring Fling and will miss the team's next event. "I don't know exactly what happened but I was going after a loose ball and the courts were rubbery. I dislocated my ring finger on my right hand so I won't play in the Providence tournament. I haven't had a doctor's opinion of when I should come back." Regardless, Woods will be ready in the fall of 2006 to make his way to the Big East. He's fired up about the competition level. "It's going to be the best conference with all of those new teams coming in there!" As a junior, Woods went for 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks a game.
