The most successful prep schools over the past two seasons and a pair of unbeatens will face one another for what should be the mythical national title.
Scout.com’s top-ranked team, Laurinburg Institute (N.C.), will play against No. 2 Hargrave Military Academy (Va.) in a late addition to the 2nd Annual Champions Classic on Friday night at the Holmes Center in Boone, N.C..
Chris Chaney’s Laurinburg squad, which had 14 players sign in the early period, is 38-0 and is led by a quartet of Memphis signees: Shawne Williams, Antonio Anderson, Robert Dozier and Kareem Cooper. Hargrave, which finished on top a year ago, is 31-0 and features Shane Clark (Maryland), Sam Young (Pittsburgh), A.D. Vassalo (Richmond) and Tommy Liddell (St. Louis).
