Milwaukee Vincent senior forward Marcus Landry is in no great hurry to pick a school. Our No. 61 prospect talks about his college prospects.

It’s been a productive few months for 6-foot-7 combo forward Marcus Landry. The Milwaukee (Wisc.) Vincent product has done well for himself on the circuit while playing with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors.

It’s no secret that strength is an issue but the athletic and active Landry is addressing the concern. “I set a lot of goals for myself,” Landry said. “One of my goals is to get stronger and I’ve been in the weight room in a little bit and it’s going good. For this summer, I’ve been focusing on my left hand. I want to be able to go both ways and use both hands; it can be an advantage.”

Last season, Landry averaged 16 points and 10.5 rebounds for Vincent. Programs, especially the ones in his state, took notice.

Landry is a high school power forward who has a chance to move to the small forward role down the line. One of his biggest strengths is how active and athletic he can be inside. Tip dunks are not the exception to the rule with him. In college, his skill set will have to get developed, but he’s got the tools.

Right now, Marquette, Wisconsin, Purdue, Connecticut and Illinois comprise a list. However, there’s no urgency to him in terms of making a decision. At this point, it’s safe to assume offers from Marquette and Wisconsin and Landry indicated that he wouldn’t mind staying home.

A decision is likely to happen right before the beginning of the high school season. “It’s nothing really to me,” Landry said. “I’ve got another year to see what else is going to be put on the table.”
