Jay Jackson started it. Martin Zeno was next and Terry Martin made in a row for the Red Raiders. The state of Louisiana has been very good to Texas Tech.
Last week, potential Top 100 prospect Terry Martin, a shooting guard out of Richwood High in Monroe, La., committed to Bobby Knight’s program.
“The other schools just knew that I was a good player but Bobby Knight explained my game to me and told me how I could use my game to help him win,” Martin said of The General.
Miami, Texas, Baylor and Oklahoma showed interest in Martin. He’ll join a 2005 recruiting class that already is four deep. The first commitment came during the freshman season of swingman Justin Wilkerson (6-7, Greenville, Tex.). Wilkerson was quickly followed by brothers Kendrick and Calvin Johnson of Morton (Tex.) High.
The Red Raiders potentially have 6 scholarships to roll out for the Class of 2005, but they might not use them all.
Back to Louisiana. Jackson was a star for the Red Raiders this year. Zeno, another Louisiana product, was the 5-A player of the year last season and Martin makes it three from the same state in as many years for Knight.
