Lyndale Burleson, a standout guard from Seattle Franklin, made his collegiate decision on Wednesday. He’s headed to play for one of the darlings of the NCAA Tournament.

Nevada’s run to the Sweet 16 in last month’s NCAA Tournament didn’t land them Seattle guard Lyndale Burleson, but it didn’t hurt either.

“Like my son said in the paper, that just put the cherry on top really,” Valerie Burleson said.

The 6-2 Burleson ran with Marvin Williams and Seattle Rotary last summer and was a key member of the team that finished in the top four at the adidas Big Time in Vegas.

Nevada landed Burleson because they were with him every step of the way in the recruiting process. From start to finish, Trent Johnson’s team was there.

“I think they’re recruiting process really did it. They were there at the beginning and the end. They just showed the interest all the way through. With the recruiting process, when the interest is there in the beginning it may not be there in the end. Lyndale in the end made the final decision.”
