Dozier Pulls Trigger - Again
When Robert Dozier decided to commit to Memphis last summer, he felt it was too early. Now, after going through the process once again, the Lithonia High (Ga.) 6-8, 195-pound senior was ready to get it done. Dozier (No. 75, TheInsiders.com) finally pulled the trigger again, this time opting to stay close to home and play for Dennis Felton and the Georgia Bulldogs next season. ``I was pleased with his choice," Lithonia coach Lewis Jones said. "I think it'll be a good fit for him. I think he'll play right away and that will speed up his maturity level rather than having to sit out some." Dozier joins an impressive class in Athens compiled by assistant coaches Ken McDonald and Mike Jones that already includes guards Channing Toney and Sundiata Gaines. The Bulldogs also got a head start with the junior class and have secured commitments from teammates Louis Williams and Mike Mercer. Dozier, who is extremely versatile and athletic, should get a chance to step in right away at Georgia. ``He needs to be a little more selfish," Jones added. "He could have averaged around 40 points per game, but he wanted to get everyone involved. Coaches love his ability to put the ball on the floor, which will allow him to play the two or the three." Dozier also considered N.C. State and Miami.
