Brandon Polk, a 6-6, 210-pound combo forward of out Redlands Junior College committed to Butler.
He selected the Bulldogs after visiting Colorado and receiving offers from Western Kentucky, Creighton, St. Louis, Mississippi and Wichita State.
“The worked real hard. They did a good job recruiting him,” Redlands head coach Steve Eck said. “He wanted to go to Butler from day one.”
Polk is a former all-stater out of Wichita North High School where he averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds a game. Last year he averaged averaged 12.3 points and 4.7 rebounds a game.
“He needs to get stronger. He’s not weak; he just needs to get stronger. He’s a smart offensive player and he knows how to get his shot off. He’ll shoot the three-pointer this year. We’re counting on him on the wing but we’ll post him up. From 15 feet and in he can put the ball in the basket. He’s shooting the three-ball and taking guys off the dribble a lot better.”
Butler has commitments from A.J. Graves and Gary Patterson.
