Altavista senior point guard Kenny Hunt was one of the July risers. He entered the month with some schools tugging on him but left with a plethora of interested programs.

Kenny Hunt was the point guard for Steve Shelton’s N.C. Gaters during the month of July. The typically high-scoring guard was charged with a new role. “My role was just to be the leader on the team but now I’m ready to score.”

And the sweet-shooting guard can do just that and he’s headed for a big scoring year on the high school level.

In the meantime, he’s got to make sense of a complicated school list. Presently, said list includes UT-Chattanooga, James Madison, Western Kentucky, Virginia Commonwealth, Virginia Tech and VMI.

“There’s really a lot of schools and I can’t name them off the top of my head,” Hunt said. He’s going to take an unofficial visit to JMU on Aug. 30 and he’ll also stop by at VMI but he’s not sure of the date.
