Ten offers for Dorsey

Kevin Dorsey

Whether it's at an individual camp or touring with Team Takeover on the EYBL circuit, Dorsey is a hard-charging competitor who has opened eyes over the past few months.

Kevin Dorsey's demeanor off the court doesn't match his disposition on it. He's easy with a smile on the sidelines but a tough, hard-nosed competitor when he steps between the lines. Consistently, his dynamic style makes an imprint on games.

Dorsey creates frequent problems for opponents with his speed and quickness. He's outstanding pushing the ball in transition and a pest defensively as well, capable of ripping away steals and getting easy buckets the other way.

Meanwhile, he shoots decent percentage from three but can be very streaky. He hit 8-24 from deep through 16 games, so obviously he doesn't look to fire them up frequently. He has shot 52 percent from the field overall and helped guide Takeover to a 9-7 record, clearly establishing himself as one of the squad's primary leaders and efficient scorers.

Upon being asked to list his scholarship offers, he consulted with his phone and reeled off this list: Virginia Tech, VCU, Florida Gulf Coast, UMass, SMU, Old Dominion, Creighton, Ole Miss, Minnesota and Nebraska.

"I also have interest from St. Joe's and Maryland," he added. "I think all those schools like my style and defensive intensity."

Dorsey also continues making progress in other areas.

"The biggest thing (to work on) is my leadership role," he said. "I want to do that and then weigh all my options for college, and just show them I'm one of the best of the best."
