Terrell gives pledge to Rhode Island
After narrowing his list to two schools, Jared Terrell closed in on his college choice on Friday. Terrell, who was one of the top available prospects in the 2014 class, committed to Danny Hurley and his staff at Rhode Island. Terrell cited his relationship with Hurley as the biggest factor in his decision. "My relationship with coach Hurley is very strong right now," Terrell said. "He recruited me for over two and a half. years. Our relationship was built over that time. Their style fits my style of play. They get up and down. They are very guard oriented." Terrell said the decision wasn't an easy one. He had it down to Boston College and Rhode Island. He took visits to both. "I really couldn't make up my mind," Terrell told Scout.com. "It took me a while. I thought B.C. was the best place. Then I thought URI was the right place. Then I just felt like I went with my gut." Terrell, a strongly built 6-foot-4 guard, is a scorer. A solid shooter to the three-point stripe, Terrell is a physical driver that is also capable of making mid-range pull-ups. "I studied their film," Terrell said of Rhode Island. "They set a lot of ball screens and they get up and down in transition." A four-star recruit, Terrell is ranked No. 78 overall in the 2014 class.
