Roundtable: Upcoming Decisions

The true, dedicated Class of 2015 recruiting cycle will open in the next couple months, and already some players are preparing to make their college choices.

Charles Matthews made news today when the talented junior suddenly ended his recruitment and announced in favor of Kentucky.

That said, top juniors generally have not been forthcoming with early commitments. The pace surely will increase following the conclusion of the 2013-14 season, and who are some players you think might join Matthews in the early commitment parade?

Here's checking in with the Scout.com national hoops team to predict the next moves:

Josh Gershon: There is a number of highly recruited West Coast prospects who could end their recruitment before the end of summer, which some would call an early commitment, with many kids taking all the way until the spring of their senior years these days. Justin Simon, Ray Smith, Chase Jeter, Aaron Holiday, Chimezie Metu and Kendall Small are amongst the West Coast prospects who don't appear to be planning on waiting too long, with Tyler Dorsey, Marquese Chriss and Sedrick Barefield having already pulled the plug on their recruitments early.

Brian Snow: One player who plans on making an early commitment is Luke Kennard. The five-star wing is on record as to saying he would like to decide in the spring, so clearly he is somebody who will be making an earlier choice than many of his classmates. Outside of Kennard, no one jumps out at me as to who will commit early, but no doubt a few others will follow.

Evan Daniels: I think one of the next highly touted players to make a college decision in the 2015 class is Luke Kennard. He's in the process of setting up official visits and I think he wants to have his college decision out of the way prior to the spring. There were rumblings that Aaron Holiday was on the verge of making a commitment, but he denied it and that talk has slowed. He's one to keep an eye on as well.

Rob Harrington: Without question, from a national standpoint Luke Kennard projects to wrap things up this spring. At one time I thought Isaiah Briscoe would announce early, but now I don't know. Another to watch is Brandon Ingram, whose recruitment has boiled down to a handful of serious finalists. He took an official visit to UNC this season and will have Duke in the stands for his game this evening.
