One of the better sophomore players playing at Del Mar (Calif.) Torrey Pines this past week was 5-foot-9 point guard Bryce Aiken. Aiken played with poise for Elizabeth (N.J.) The Patrick School through the event.
"It was great competition and a great tournament," Aiken told Scout.com. "I think as a team our team chemistry started flowing."
Aiken showed a nice blend of distributing and scoring this past week. He's wise beyond his years, has a good feel for the game and is a very good long-range shooter.
"I'm a pass first point guard," Aiken said. "It's just when the defense gives me shots I'm going to take it, because I can shoot good."
"I definitely like to get my teammates involved," he added. "I'm poised and I control the tempo of the game. College coaches always love a point guard that can defend so that's a big part of my game that I'm trying to work on."
Although just a sophomore, college interest is picking up for Aiken.
Aiken has already taken a handful of unofficial visits.
Aiken plays with Team Scan during the spring and summer.
