The Seton Hall Pirates are looking to get back to the top of the Big East, and the class of 2014 is a very important part of that. After signing a stellar class in the early signing period, now they have another piece to the puzzle in Desi Rodriguez.
At 6-foot-5 and almost 200 pounds, Rodriguez is another scoring option for the Pirates in the future. Rodriguez had given some thought to re-classifying to 2015, but the offer from Seton Hall proved to be what he was looking for.
According to Brooklyn (NY) Lincoln assistant coach James Barrett, Rodriguez has come a long way and is definitely on the upswing as a prospect.
“He came from the B division in the Bronx, and he wasn’t getting recruited by anyone last year when he first got to Lincoln,” said Barrett. “He then won MVP of the city championship last March and now he was named to the All-Tournament Team at City of Palms.”
Barrett continued, “Now he has committed to Seton Hall and I am very proud of all the work he has put in. I know he will be great for Seton Hall.
The Pirates now have a class loaded with high powered scorers. Rodriguez is the fifth commitment of the class, and someone who brings added versatility and upside to the Seton Hall roster.
