Four-star power forward Zylan Cheatham made his decision on Saturday evening. The Arizona native burst onto the scene after his sophomore season, and followed it up with strong play during the high school year and on the AAU circuit, now he will bring his game to the Mountain West.
At just under 6-foot-8 with long arms and impressive athleticism, Cheatham is someone with as much upside and potential as almost any forward in the class. With that he picked up offers from many of the top schools on the West Coast, in the end though it came down to New Mexico, Arizona State, Washington, and San Diego State.
In the end though it was the Aztecs who nabbed his pledge. Cheatham announced his decision simply by showing a San Diego State t-shirt surrounded by his family and friends at a basketball showcase.
This is the fourth commitment for the Aztecs in what is shaping up to be a top class nationally for Steve Fisher and his staff. Cheatham is joined by four-star commitments Malik Pope and Trey Kell along with three-star guard Kevin Zabo.
