The commitment of Corey Sanders to UCF was a short lived one. The four-star point guard made a decision to pick the American Athletic Conference school in September, but now he is back open in the process.
The buzz building around Sanders at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy has been significant, and his commitment was seen as huge for UCF, however according to AAU coach Diana Neal it is no longer on the board.
“Corey Sanders has decided to re-open his recruitment,” said Neal. “Him and his family want him to take the recruiting process slow.”
Before picking UCF, Sanders had interest from schools such as Florida State, Michigan, Xavier, Marquette, Memphis, and others. Now again he should hear from most of those schools as there aren’t many quality point guards in the class of 2015.
Known for his combination of size and athleticism, Sanders is now said to be improving his motor and refining his skills while down at IMG.
UCF is now left with one commitment in 2015 from in-state post player Alex Owens.
