The Iowa Hawkeyes have been hitting the recruiting trail hard looking for someone who can make shots, and on Tuesday night they were rewarded when Brady Ellingson made the decision to pick the Big Ten School.
The Sussex (Wisc) Hamilton star ran over the summer with Ray Allen Select on the AAU circuit, and turned himself into a high-major recruit. His ability to shoot the ball is what separated him from most, but Ellingson can do more than just shoot. He is also solid off the dribble and has a good feel for the game.
Along with Iowa, Ellingson also had Oakland and San Diego showing him significant attention, but he decided the Big Ten was in his future after making a visit to the school.
Iowa boss Fran McCaffery showed Ellingson a lot of attention this summer, and that that led to him offering.
Ellingson is the first commitment for the Hawkeyes in the class of 2014.
