Gilmore, a 6-foot-7 forward out of Manvel (Tex.) High, confirmed the news to Scout.com.
"It was just felt like I fit in," Gilmore told Scout.com. "I got along well with the coaches and the team took me in since the visit. I've been cool with them ever since. The fans seem like they'll be great. It doesn't sound too bad play in front of 17,000 every night."
"It was just better than what I expected," he added. "I didn't know much about them at first."
A hard playing combo forward, Gilmore is a pretty good athlete that brings energy on both ends of the floor. He rebounds in and out of his area, finishes well at the rim and is capable of making catch and shoot jump shots.
Gilmore is Creighton's first pledge of the 2014 class.
