Leon Gilmore had his list of schools at three. On Monday, he opted to pull the trigger for his favorite of the bunch -- Creighton.
Gilmore, a 6-foot-7 forward out of Manvel (Tex.) High, confirmed the news to Scout.com.
“It was just felt like I fit in,” Gilmore told Scout.com. “I got along well with the coaches and the team took me in since the visit. I’ve been cool with them ever since. The fans seem like they’ll be great. It doesn’t sound too bad play in front of 17,000 every night.”
The three-star prospect also considered Houston and Texas Tech. He took his official visit to Creighton in mid-September and he’s been thinking about the Blue Jays ever since.
“It was just better than what I expected,” he added. “I didn’t know much about them at first.”
A hard playing combo forward, Gilmore is a pretty good athlete that brings energy on both ends of the floor. He rebounds in and out of his area, finishes well at the rim and is capable of making catch and shoot jump shots.
Gilmore is Creighton's first pledge of the 2014 class.
