Kyle Kuzma didn’t need much time on Utah’s campus to come to a college decision. The 6-foot-8 combo forward committed to Larry Krystkowiak and the Utes Friday evening.
“I’m really excited,” Kuzma told Scout.com just minutes after giving the Utah staff the news.
“I’m on an unofficial out here right now,” the Philadelphia (Pa.) Rise Academy standout said. “I love with the campus. It’s a family atmosphere out here.”
Kuzma said heading into the weekend he thought there was a good chance he would commit, but he just needed to see the school up close first.
“I was thinking that, but I just wanted to see the campus and everything first,” Kuzma said. “The campus and how everybody is and the players just blew me away.”
“I have a real good relationship with the head coach, coach K,” he added. “And coach [DeMario] Slocum. We talk a lot. There was big relationship there.”
Kuzma, Scout.com’s No. 25 power forward in the 2014 class, also considered Tennessee, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Penn State.
