Jim LarraƱaga scored his second commitment of the 2014 class on Monday when James Palmer opted for the Hurricanes.

Miami picked up their second verbal pledge of the 2014 class on Monday.

James Palmer, a standout at Washington (D.C.) St. John's College, committed to Jim LarraƱaga and his staff over strong interest from Memphis, Xavier, Wake Forest, VCU, Temple, George Mason and Cincinnati.

Palmer confirmed the news to

"I think it was a good decision and it felt right," Palmer said. "It's my style of play and coach L is a great coach."

Palmer, a 6-foot-4 four guard, joins a class that also consists of three-star shooting guard Adonys Henriqez.
