Justin Coleman will stay close to home and play his college basketball at Alabama.

Alabama picked up a verbal pledge from Justin Coleman on Wednesday.

The four-star recruit confirmed the news via text message.

"I love the style of play and the coaches," Coleman said.

Coleman, a 5-foot-10 lead guard out of Birmingham (Ala.) Wenonah, picked Alabama a host of schools including Auburn, UAB, Tennesee, Arkansas and Kansas State.

Coleman is Alabama’s first verbal pledge in the 2014 recruiting class. A four-star point guard, Coleman is ranked No. 81 overall.
