LeBron: Alexander shines at camp
Through a full day of game action at the LeBron James Skills Academy, it's clear that Cliff Alexander is the top performer camp. At 6-foot-8, 230-pounds, Alexander made it clear that he was planning to dominate both of his camp games as soon as he stepped on the floor. He dunked every opportunity he had, showed off an improved right jump hook and ran the floor with purpose. "I've been playing pretty good," Alexander said. "I'm doing the same thing. I'm playing with a high motor, blocking shots and running the floor." "That's how my dad taught me how to play so that's what I go out there and do," Alexander added when asked about his toughness and motor. At a camp that is highly competitive, Alexander is standing out in a major way. Thus far no one has been able to slow him down, much less stop him. He said he's having fun with the experience. "I'm having a lot of fun," Alexander said. "I get along with the guys pretty well and I'm going hard in the workouts." On the recruiting front, Alexander is down to 10 schools – Arizona, Baylor, DePaul, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Michigan State and Kansas. Alexander recently visited Kansas for an unofficial visit. "It was great," he said of the trip. "I loved the campus. Me and coach [Bill] Self built a great connection. Coach [Jerrance] Howard is one of the best guys. He's one of the first guys to recruit me and offer me when he was at Illinois." "He's recruited me a pretty long time," he added about Howard. "Since I stepped into high school. It's been pretty good." Alexander is planning to go back to Kansas for an official visit on October 4th. He also said he plans to visit Memphis, Arizona and Louisville officially. He doesn't have hard dates for those visits yet. Alexander is currently ranked No. 4 overall recruit in the 2014 class.
